In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

REC 2 reaches the same heights - maybe even higher - of terrifying as the original. I thought I knew what to expect. But I should've known better. REC was an unexpected, scary-as-hell, yet exhilarating roller- coaster ride, from start to finish. And that REC 2 was just as unexpected - and it was scared the ever-living crap out of me. I couldn't take my eyes away from the screen. I wanted to know what happened after the unsettling ending of REC. So I couldn't keep my eyes closed, even if it could potentially cause a heart attack of some sort in the process of watching. And it was all worth it, from start to finish, then, suddenly, I was taken over by the same question when I finished the original: WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!

One of the cardinal sins committed by most sequels is materializing a reasons for a sequel out of thin air. Too many sequels have made this blunder which usually taints the entire movie. To avoid this, many horror movies will end on a cliffhanger or and open ended conclusion. The first "REC" didn't end completely open but nothing was resolved either. If you saw "REC" then you're already aware of the contained zombie outbreak. In "REC 2" four SWAT members and a {ahem} doctor go into the building to acquire a blood sample from the original carrier of the contagion. They need this to potentially make and antidote. This time around the movie looks a little more staged and a little less natural. The characters seem more like characters than simple bystanders that have been sucked into a bleep storm.Just to erase all doubt that this is a movie, they threw in three cliché, knuckle-headed, rebellious, let-me-see-what's-going-on teens. After all, what's a good horror movie without your dumb teenagers? Another damper was the religious route the story took. I think they did that for effect or just to be different. In any case it didn't enhance the movie anymore."REC 2" was good for a sequel and if we were to judge it based upon other sequels it'd be a masterpiece. All in all it was worth watching.

Well, I just saw this movie with my girlfriend and there are few things which caught my eye and which I really like.SpoilersI wouldn't call this a zombie-type movie but a demonic possession type of movie which we learn from this movie. And what I like about it is that it isn't a type of house in nowhere which contains a happy family and one member is possessed but this movie is placed in an apartment building in the middle of the city with demons in it. Unique in my opinion.I like the parallel storytelling from the teens and the SWAT team. And while I'm at it. I'm not sure what happened to the two teens which got locked in a room. As I saw, only one got possessed. I suppose they also got infected. Anyways, one of the best movies alongside REC and would recommend it to everyone.

I read a lot of people talking about the change of science from REC to religion, but let me ask you one thing: Are you guys insane? The first film showed us the beginning of the virus, nobody knows his origins. During the film, we saw that behaves similar to zombies, insanity, bites, attack anything in their way, till here it's OK you guys thought that this film is another movie about zombies, but the story is much more complicated than that and the answers only come at the end:The girl who was possessed by the demon is in the building and she started all of this, it's here that we discover that they are not zombies, but people who were possessed. Please, stop acting like if the second movie has changed everything that the first one said. This is different than anything before, it's not a boring story about demons, it's brilliant.
